Dan Dumas is a leader committed to transformation. He is passionate about all things leadership, strategy, adoption, expository preaching, biblical manhood and being an idea-generating organizational leader.
In 2020, Dan served as an interim CEO for Kanye West's fashion company, Yeezy. He was responsible for contract negotiations, hiring executive leadership and brand positioning. Before that, he was the Senior Vice President of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 2007 – 2017. In addition he continues to serve as a special advisor to the President of Southern Seminary and Faculty member in the Doctorate of Ministry in Executive Leadership.
Dan actively writes on Leadership at Leaders Don’t Panic, and provides a variety of coaching and consulting for businesses, organizations, nonprofits, Universities, NGO’s, government agencies, churches, and their leaders. Dan has served in a variety of ministry capacities in many local churches, including Executive Pastor at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. Prior to his time in ministry, Dan served in the US Navy as a search and rescue swimmer. As an advocate for vulnerable children he was Special Advisor for Foster Care and Adoption to the Governor of Kentucky.
He is the author of Live Smart, and the co-author of A Guide to Biblical Manhood and the editor of A Guide to Expository Ministry. Keep a watchful eye out for his forthcoming book, Lead Smart coming in 2021.
Dan is married to Jane and has two children: Aidan and Elijah. He loves all things sports (especially lake sports) and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fly fishing.
