Duane M. Barnhart is an award-winning director and producer of television, documentaries and narrative feature films. He has produced and directed projects with many talented actors including, James Earl Jones, Gary Sinise, Rob Lowe, Meg Ryan and Kirk Cameron to name a few.
As an entertainment entrepreneur and 25+ year veteran in content creation, Duane has a wide range of experience in both entertainment and digital media industries. Duane has written, produced & directed commercials and corporate documentaries for some of the worlds most recognized brands including, Southwest Airlines, Mandarin Oriental, IBM Watson, Norte Dame University, Petco Foundation, Panasonic, Caymus Vineyards, Godiva Chocolates, Opus One Winery and many more. His work with faith-based organizations spans over decades. In the mid 90's, he was a part of launching a 24-hour Christian television network called, Cross TV, where he was also on the board of directors. From there he produced and directed the Word Pictures television series which was distributed to roughly 80 million television households nationally and internationally.
In 2003, Duane relocated to Los Angeles to build the studio for Living Waters Ministry and create the Way of the Master television series, hosted by Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron. As the Executive Producer and Director, Duane oversaw the production of 52 episodes. In 2006, he launched his own production company called, Pyro Pictures where he expanded his interest in the convergence of traditional media with the new media world and was asked to be one of the first of a select group of people to help Google create and launch their radio and television ad division. He created well over a hundred radio and tv ads for Google clients. Soon after, he became one of the first independent producers to sign a partnership agreement with YouTube to produce content for ad sponsored channels. During those years Duane also produced and directed content with many noted ministries and Christian leaders including, Joni Eareckson Tada, Nick Vujicic, RC Sproul, D James Kennedy, John MacArthur, Tony Evans, James White, Jars of Clay, Focus on the Family, and many more. In 2011, he launched the tech-blog, Daily Disruption, which featured stories on Google News and other partner sites gaining a million unique visits per month. In 2013, Duane created Monumental Multimedia, the company that he used to raise funding, produce and direct the feature-length documentary film, Monumental: In Search of America's National Treasure presented by Kirk Cameron. In 2015, Duane rebranded and relaunched The Doorpost Project and hosted close to 50 podcasts with celebrity and expert interviews about the entertainment industry. He is the spokesperson for MyMessage.com and voice actor in The Little Baby Face Foundation's promotional/fundraising video.
During his career, Duane has been fortunate enough to garner various awards and accolades for his work, including several Telly Awards, NRB Awards and a Dove Award nomination for Monumental. As a filmmaker, he continues to work on projects both mainstream and faith-based. Currently, his time is spent overseeing the development of a movie about the true life story of Mike King called, King of the Road. He is a consultant for Coral Ridge Media, a television studio in South Florida. He also serves as a Silver Council Member and Judge for the Telly Awards.
